Because of COvid-19 restrictions we have not been able to travel and share our indigo dyeing workshops as we normally would and it's making us blue....

This kit comes with a free demonstration on Zoom on  Sunday July 12 from 11 - 12:30 (AEST) of all five methods of Shibori: scrunching, makiage (binding ),  itajime (clamping),  arashi (wrapping) and  orinui (stitching). We'll show you how all the major effects are created and hsare tips and secrets for gettgin outstanding results 

Then on July 19 11-12:30 (AEST), we will do a dye-along! Set up your vat and dye the pieces you have prepared during the week, or just watch and plan a beautiful blue future!

our regular Indigo Dye Kit (details below) (valued at $100) plus four extra lengths of cotton sarashi (valued at $40)

so that you can experiment with all techniques and up to 10 patterns.

 

 

 

 

This kit contains everything you need to start indigo dyeing!

one packet of Konya-i natural indigo dye (enough to make a single use 5 litre vat which will dye 10-15 metres of fabric). CInludes instructions in English

four pairs of hand-cut resists for itajime (clamping) techniques - circle, triangle, square and bars

160cm soft japanese sarashi scarf for dyeing

    I think the kit is a good starter pack. The indigo dye is simple to use.

    Thank you Alison and Shuji. I was very pleased to be doing your workshop. It was a great refresher for me.
    Your presentation was personal, informative and encouraging. I certainly will encourage others to be part of the experience. The kit was great and such a help having everything before you. I had a problem with Zoom from my end but it didn’t distract from the workshop. Looking forward to part 2
